KVK organized the training for Farm Women/Rural Youth on Baking & Preservation of summer fruits & vegetables

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Samrala organized 5 days Vocational training on Baking & Preservation of summer fruits & vegetables from 18 to 22 July 2016 under the Home Science component. During this training 20 participants were enrolled. The trainees were given hand on information about various methods of baking & preservation of food products by Mrs. Ritu Mahal, AP(H. Sci.). Dr. S.C. Sharma, ADT motivated the participaants to enroll themselves in activities & trainings of KVK to learn new technologies available. S. Balbir Singh Rajewal, President Bharti Kisan Union, Punjab was the chief guest and he also motivated the trainees to avail every opportunity through KVK. Dr. Bhalla, Chest specialist from civil hospital, Samrala & 2 health councilors gave informative lecture on prevention, symptoms & cure of HIV (AIDS) & other methods to lead a hygienic and disease free life. During this training many products kile whole wheat biscuits, Italian bread, donuts, cup cakes, cakes were prepared. On the last day exposure visit to Baking Unit at College of Home Science & Packing Unit, PHPTC & preservation unit Food Science & Technology at PAU, Ludhiana was conducted. Participants were given demonstration on these technologies & they had a very informative visit.
