ASRB Chairman visit to the Progressive farmer and self help group of KVK Samrala

Dr. Gurbachan Singh, Chairman, Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) along with Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ATARI, ICAR, Zone-1 visited KVK Samrala trained bee-keepers bee-keeping unit owned by Mr. Gobinder Singh Randhawa, Big Bee Agro established at Doraha. Dr. Gurbachan Singh appreciated efforts of Mr. Gobinder Singh for adopting bee-keeping as profession besides farming and generating employment to other rural youth in the area. Mr. Gobinder Singh has already been associated in the group of more than 300 youth who are directly or in-directly in bee-keeping business. Mr. Randhawa has diversified bee-keeping by making different products these are marketed with in state and country besides exporting wax to USA and other European countries. Dr. S.C. Sharma, Associate Director (Trg.), KVK Samrala highlighted that Shri Guru Arjun Dev self-help group from village Bhagwanpura encouraged to get associated with Big Bee Agro to prepare bee-keeping accessories like Bee-vail, gloves etc and generated market for more profits. The big-bee agro and Shri Guru Arjun Dev self-help group both highlighted the key role of KVK Samrala and as a whole Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana for up-skilling them and make them self sustained. The chief guest Dr. Gurbachan Singh and Dr. Rajbir Singh appreciated the contribution of KVK and also encourage and motivated these entrepreneurs top develop strong linkages with KVK and motivate others to link with KVK
