Anganwari Workers get Training at KVK Samrala

The Punjab Agricultural Universitys Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Samrala) conducted a training course on the Significance and Preparation of Healthy Foods for Winter Season. Anganwari workers and supervisors attended the training. Dr S.C. Sharma, Associate Director, KVK Samrala, exhorted the participants to promote kitchen garden concept for nutritional security. Dr Ritu Mahal, a home science expert, gave demonstrations on the preparation of pinnis using alsi, and highlighted its significance, economics and nutritional value. She also imparted practical training in the preparation of healthy sandwiches. She urged the trainees to encourage the rural women of their villages to go for homemade recipes.
