Field Harvest Day organized in village Bagli Kalan 02-05-2019

Under the guidance of Dr. S. C. Sharma (Associate Director), KVK Samrala organised field harvest day on 01.05.2019 at Village Bagli Kalan. The objective of organizing this day was to make the farmers believe and aware by seeing the results of in situ residue management technique at farmer's field. Dr. Devinder Tiwari (Asstt. Prof. Ext. Education) stressed on the importance of clean environment by managing the crop residue at farmers' end. He appreciated the progressive farmers: Pardeep Singh , Major Singh, Harnek Singh, Jinder Singh etc for their efforts in managing the crop residue by adopting various PAU-technologies and thus, setting an example for others. Dr. Shivani Rana (Asstt. Prof. Home Science) informed the farmers about the ill effects of straw burning. Mrs. Avneet Kaur, (Asstt. Prof. Horticulture) highlighted the benefits of Happy Seeder technology and motivated the farmers to adopt it. Er. Karun Sharma (Agri. Engineering) briefed about different crop residue management techniques. He also stressed upon precautions and safe handling of combine, harvesters during field operations. Dr. Harshneet Singh (Soil Science) briefed about advantages of incorporating crop residue for improving soil health. KVK team interacted with the farmers and thanked them for their sincere participation. Farmers assured KVK team to adopt the in situ CRM technologies at their end in coming seasons.
