Deputy Director General Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences visits Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Samrala on 11-10-2018

Dr. Le Quy Kha Deputy Director General Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Institute of Agricultural Sciences for Southern Vietnam) visited KVK Samrala on 11.10.2018. Dr. S. C. Sharma ,Associate Director, KVK Samrala welcomed the scientist and acquainted him about different transfer of technologies disseminated among the farming community by KVK. Dr. Lee visited the Technology park at the KVK and also interacted with scientists of KVK. He also interacted with the trainees participating in the on-going Mushroom cultivation training. In his address to trainees, Dr. Lee encouraged the farmers to adopt improved agricultural technologies and discussed about conservation of natural resources and advised farmers to adopt Crop Residue Management technologies and appealed farmers No To Crop Residue Burn . Dr. S.C. Sharma apprised the dignitary about various activities being conducted by KVK, Samrala and as a whole Punjab Agricultural University to curb the menace of burning of crop residue and making adopted villages as Residue Burn Free Villages. He demonstrated Dr. Lee CRM machinery (Happy Seeder, Mulcher etc) for crop residue management Dr. Lee also planted a Sohanjana plant in the KVK campus. Dr. Lee appreciated the efforts of KVK to serve the farming community and the KVK programmes related to crop residue burning. Dr. S. C. Sharma thanked the scientist and honoured him with a momento and CRM literature.
